Savannah Becotte, MA, ALC, NCC, earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Alabama as well as a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health counseling, and a certificate in marriage and family therapy—both from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She’s licensed in the state of Alabama, a Nationally Certified Counselor, certified in Gottman Couples Therapy, and trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Savannah specializes in counseling adolescents, teens, young adults, and their families with diverse diagnoses, including depression, anxiety, trauma recovery, mood, and adjustment disorders. Savannah is particularly passionate about helping folks struggling with self-esteem, trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, codependency, and grief. She uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy focusing on clients’ strengths, values, gratitude, emotion regulation, self-compassion, and mindfulness.

More About Savannah
Savannah has been in the mental health field for over five years working as a clinician and an administrator. She chose to pursue counseling after many years in the restaurant/service industry. Savannah demonstrates a passion for serving others in her office and in her community. She is the co-founder of a non-profit organization that raises awareness, fights stigma surrounding mental health and wellness, and provides support for impacted youth in her hometown of Anniston, AL. In her free time, Savannah enjoys traveling to see live music and loved ones, painting, playing outside with her two rescue pups, and she is an aspiring plant lady.

Savannah is trained in Acceptance Commitment Therapy, which is a scientifically proven effective method for the treatment of anxiety and depression, as well as difficult transitions in life. Savannah will work to uncover the root of the problem-any thoughts or behaviors causing anxiety or depression in your child, adolescent, or young adult’s life. She will help reframe unhelpful thoughts, increasing psychological flexibility, teach skills and behaviors to unhook clients from anxiety and depression, and move toward a better, more fulfilling life.
